SECOND UNIT / BEHIND THE SCENES

Description: Like Hellah Sidibe, our creative production crew was determined to document the entire 100 mile ultramarathon experience at the 2023 Western States Endurance Race--NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. It was a 4 day effort that involved preparation, summiting a mountain, going the distance, battling energy levels, cameras raised up at all times, and making sure we all cross our finish lines.

My Role: Our jobs as creatives are indeed inherently fun; however, to be able to manifest our visions is an immeasurable process that is shadowed by the moment we share the final product. We all often share what it's like to do what we do, and hopefully this work provides further exposure to the nuances that are involved.

Description: I recently had the pleasure of going out on an outdoor adventure via a creative project for a brand. I was hired as a production assistant, and technical support. In this video, I share my experiences in these roles, as well as provide general commentary about what goes on during a production.

My Role: I was hired onto this production as a production assistant, as well as technical support. Apart from assisting with general production needs, such as gear check for both camera and climbing equipment, technical support was a role that required me to assess risk management and on-set wellness. I lead a group stretch to encourage an active warm up for a full day of rock climbing, and monitored activity in the environment to ensure proper safety techniques were in practice, as well as checking in with talent so as to avoid strenuous risk.
